Relief collects almost nothing. No accounts. No advertising. No data sold. Your session progress, evidence entries, and safe messages stay on your device. We do not use analytics.

Who we are

Relief is a consumer health app developed and published by Escape Velocity Studio Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about the limited data our app handles.

What we collect

Relief is designed to function with minimal data. We do not require accounts, email addresses, names, or any personal identifiers to use the app.

What we do not collect

None of the following are collected, stored, or transmitted by Relief:

Names, email addresses, or any personal identifiers · Location data · Device identifiers or fingerprints · Usage analytics or telemetry · Crash reports · Advertising identifiers · Browsing or search history · Demographic information · Biometric data · Financial information (payments are handled entirely by Apple) · Health or pain data of any kind transmitted off your device.

No analytics

Unlike many apps, Relief does not use any analytics service. No TelemetryDeck, no Google Analytics, no Firebase, no Mixpanel. We do not track how you use the app, which sessions you complete, or how often you open it. We have no servers to send this data to. Your engagement with the program is entirely private.

Sensitive content

Relief deals with chronic pain, which is a sensitive health topic. The evidence entries and safe messages you write within the app are deeply personal. This content never leaves your device. It is not transmitted, not backed up to our servers (we have none), and not accessible to us in any way. The only backup is through your personal iCloud account, encrypted by Apple.

iCloud backup

Relief uses Apple's CloudKit to back up your program progress and evidence data. This allows you to restore your data if you reinstall the app or switch to a new device. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account, encrypted by Apple, and is not accessible to us.

In-app purchase

Relief is a one-time purchase managed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not process payments, store credit card information, or have access to your billing details. Apple provides us with a transaction receipt that confirms whether you have purchased the app. We do not receive your name, email, or Apple ID from this process.

Data retention

Your data exists on your device for as long as the app is installed. If you delete the app, your local data is deleted. Your iCloud backup may persist in your iCloud account until you manually remove it or stop using iCloud. We have no ability to access, retrieve, or delete your data remotely because we do not have it.

Children

Relief is designed for adults aged 18 and over. The app is not directed at children under 18 and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Your rights

Because Relief does not collect personal data through the app, most data protection rights (access, deletion, portability) are moot because there is nothing for us to produce or delete. Your data is yours, on your device, under your control.

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, California, or any other jurisdiction with data protection laws, and you believe we hold any personal data about you (for example, from a support email), you may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion.

Website

The Relief website does not use cookies, pixels, fingerprinting, or any tracking technologies.


Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at this URL. If we make material changes to how we handle data, we will note it prominently. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
